Kaplan Family Distinguished Faculty Fellowship

The Kaplan Family Distinguished Faculty Fellowship in Service-Learning recognizes the importance of the national movement in higher education for greater involvement in civic engagement.

Application Information

Completed Applications Include:

  • A cover page including applicant name, title, department/affiliation, proposal title and abstract.
  • A maximum 3-page proposal letter outlining what you intend to accomplish as a Kaplan Fellow. Your proposal may involve undertaking a service-learning course enhancement, enhancing your current course proposal, or undertaking a community-based research or action research project. The proposal should document how your project engages the community, adds value to the particular community, and involves community partners in aspects of its planning and implementation. Your proposal should demonstrate sustained ways that the project will impact, shape or enhance the service-learning teaching and/or research agenda of your department.
  • A copy of the faculty's vitae emphasizing evidence of engagement with service-learning pedagogy or public scholarship.
  • Support letter from the community partner.
  • Support letter from the chair of your department.

Applications must be received by 4:00pm on March 28, 2018.
