Alternative Breaks Students Hard at Work!
Thank you for your interest in joining the Public Service Center Challenge!
The Charge
A generous friend of the Public Service Center has pledged $5,000 annually for five years, with one caveat: the Public Service Center must garner the same amount in new donations!
The Background
The PSC offers many opportunities for students, faculty and staff to become involved in service locally, nationally and internationally. Last year alone, more than 6,000 students engaged in over 216,000 hours of service. Our programs provide students with opportunities for service learning, leadership development, enacting social change and direct service. The Center supports more than 100 faculty and service learning courses, a Public Service Center Scholars Program, a University-wide Leadership seminar series, more than 20 student led organizations, humanitarian award programs, faculty fellowship programs, the Community Work Study program, Alumni service and networking events, and much more!
Participation in these programs can only be described as transformative, both personally and academically. Cornell Public Service Center programs provide hands on experience, opportunities to enrich communities, increased critical social awareness, space for dialogue and exchange of perspectives on social transformation – all crucial components to train the leaders of today and tomorrow.
Your support makes all this possible. our programming would not continue without the steadfast dedication of community and campus partners, alumni, students and generous friends and donors.
